Question 563816: A college student earns $25 per day delivering advertising brochures door to door, plus 50 cents for each person he interviews. How many people did he interview on a day when he earned $85?
Answer by fcabanski(1391)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The equation is 25+.5x where x is the number of people he interviewed. In this case the equation = 85.

25+.5x=85 | subtract 25 from both sides
.5x=60 | divide by .5
x=60/.5 = 120
