How many liters of a 40% acid solution must be added to 100 liters of a 25% solution to obtain a 30% solution?
-----
acid + acid = acid
0.40x + 0.25*100 = 0.30(x+100)
------
40x + 25*100 = 30x + 30*100
10x = 500
x = 50 liters (amt. of 40% solution needed)
