A biologist has two brine solutions, one containing 5% salt and another containing 20% salt. How many milliliters of each should she mix to obtain 1L of a solution that contains 14% salt?
Answer by scott8148(6628) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
¿ 6 step approach ?
let x = amount of 5% ___ let y = amount of 20% ___ 1000 mL = 1L
x + y = 1L
(5%)(x) + (20%)(y) = (14%)(1)
