Question 534844: Two trucks leave the same place at the same time, traveling in opposite directions. One is traveling 10 mph faster than the other. After 3 hours, the trucks are 240 miles apart. How fast is each traveling?
Answer by josmiceli(19441) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let the speed of the slower truck = mi/hr
The speed of the faster truck is mi/hr
The trucks are separating at the sum of their speeds, so
Their speeds are 35 mi/hr and 45 mi/hr
check:
slower truck:
mi
Faster truck:
mi
mi
OK
