Question 532197: Margo has 40 milliliters of 25% solution. How many milliliters of 60% solution should she add to obtain the required 30% solution?
Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
--------percent ---------------- quantity
Solution I 25 ---------------- 40 ml
Solution II 60 ---------------- x ml
Mixture 30 ---------------- 40 + x ml
25 * 40 + 60 x = 30 ( 40 + x )
1000 + 60 x = 1200 + 30 x
60 x + -30 x = 1200 - -1000
30 x = 200
/ 30
x = 6.67
6.67 ml of Solution II
