Answer by Maths68(1474) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Cyclists A Data
==========
Speed = 9mph
Time=t hour
Distance Covered by Cyclists A=9*t
=============
Cyclists B Data
============
Speed = 11mph
Time=t hour
Distance covered by Cyclists B=11*t
Distance Covered by Cyclists A + Distance Covered by Cyclists B = Total Distnace apart
9t+11t=100
20t=100
20t/20=100/20
t=5 hour
They will be 100 miles apart after 5 hours.
Check
=====
Cyclists A Data
==========
Speed = 9mph
Time=5 hour
Distance Covered by Cyclists A=9*5=45 miles
=============
Cyclists B Data
============
Speed = 11mph
Time=5 hour
Distance covered by Cyclists B=11*5=55
Cyclists A Travel + Cyclists B Travel = Total distance between two cyclists
45+55=100
100=100
