Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
---------percent ---------------- quantity
Alcohol 100 ---------------- x quarts
Solution 30 ------ 16 - x quarts
Mixture 55.00% ---------------- 16

100 x + 30 ( 16 - x ) = 55 * 16

100 x + 480 - 30 x = 880
100 x - 30 x = 880 - 480
70 x = 400
/ 70
x=5.71 quarts 100.00% Alcohol
