How much water evaporated from 90 mg of a 2% salt solution to produce a 3% salt solution?
:
Let x = amt of water required to evaporate
:
Write an amt of salt equation, amt remains the same only the per cent changes
:
.02(90) = .03(90-x)
1.8 = 2.7 - .03x
.03x = 2.7 - 1.8
.03x = .9
