Hi,
how much water must be evaporated from 8 grams of a 30% antiseptic solution
to produce a 40% solution
Expressing in terms of % of water: i.e.8 grms of 70 % water..etc
Letting x represent the amount of water that must be evaporated
Question states***
.70*8gm - x = .60(8gm-x)
.10*8 = .40x
.10*8/.40 = x = 2grams must be evaporated off.
CHECKING our Answer***
5.6 -2 = 3.6 = .60*(8-2) = 3.6
