Question 458341: How much pure acid should be mixed with 4 gallons of a 30% acid solution in order to get an 80% acid solution?
Answer by jorel1380(3719) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
z+.30(4)=.80(z+4)
z+1.2=.8z+3.2
.2z=2
z=2/.2=10
You need 10 liters of pure acid for your mix
10(1)+4(.30)=14(.8)
10+1.2=11.2
11.2=11.2..
