Question 446189: Can someone please help me with this question?
Fran swims at a rate of speed of 2.6km/hr in still water, the lazy river flows at a speed of 0.4km/hr. How long will it take Fran to swim 1. km upstream?

Answer by rwm(914)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
There really isn't enough info for a real world situation because we don't know how she will react to the current and stream and we know nothing about her endurance.
But from a math point of view, she will swim 2.2 km in one hour upstream.
2.2/60=1/x
x=27.27 minutes
