Question 434357: You are staining a coffee table you just made. After testing some sample pieces of wood, you decide that you want a mix of yellow stain and red stain. You estimate that you want a mis that contains 75% of the yellow stain. You only have 1 pint that is made up of equal parts of the stain. How many pints of the yellow stain do you have to add to the current mixture?
Answer by solver91311(24713) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Right now you have one pint that is half yellow and half red. If you add one pint that is all yellow, then you will have a total of 4 half-pints, 3 of which will be yellow and 1 of which will be red. 3/4 to 1/4 is the same as 75% to 25%
