Question 427182: My patients order reads: ceftizoxime 1 gram IV piggyback every 8 hours. The pharmacy supplies it in 100mL dextrose and water. I need to infuse over 30 minutes, with tubing that delivers 10 drops per milliliter, what drip rate do I set, rounded to the nearest whole number.
I figured it at 100mL / 30minutes = 33 drops per minute.
Am I even close?
Thank You !
