Question 426171: Cheap Charlie is attempting to stretch his 2-liter bottle of antifreeze by diluting it with water. He read on carstuff.com that the antifreeze companies have made the anitfreeze too strong, and all that your car really needs is a 25% antifreeze solution.
a) How many liters of water he add to the 2 liters of pure anitfreeze to make this happen?
b) Cheap Charlie is full of bad ideas. He read on wikipedia than an antifreeze solution is safe to digest when it is 0.05% antifreeZE. How much water would he need to add to 2 liters of pure antifreeze to make this happen? Is this feasible? Explain.

x=2/.25=8
If Charlie adds 6 ltrs of water to his 2 ltrs. of pure anti-freeze, he'll have 8 liters of 25% anti-freeze

Charlie needs 3998 ltrs. of water to add to his 2 liters of anti-freeze to make a .05% solution. Is this feasible? Could be-- if you mix it in a swimming pool..
