A 20 gallon solution contains 50% salt.
How much pure water needs to be added in it to get a solution that contains 30% salt?
:
Let w = amt of water required
The actual amt of salt will stay the same, only the percent changes
.50(20) = .30(w + 20)
10 = .3w + 6
10 - 6 = .3w
s =
w = 13 gal of pure water to be added
