Answer by Tatiana_Stebko(1539)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If x is gallons of a 10%-salt solution, then it contains 0.10x gallons of solt
6 gallons of a 22%-salt solution contains 0.22*6=1.32 gallons of solt
if mixed x gallons with 6 gallons, then obtain (x+6) gallons of a 13%-salt solution
(x+6) gallons of a 13%-salt solution contains 0.13*(x+6)
So equation

gallons of a 10%-salt solution must be mixed with 6 gallons of a 22%-salt solution to obtain a 13%-salt solution
