How many milliliters of pure acid must be added to 150 milliliters of a 15% solution of acid to obtain a 25% solution?
----------
Equation:
acid + acid = acid
1*x + 0.15*150 = 0.25(x+150)
-----
Multiply thru by 100 to get:
100x + 15*150 = 25x + 25*150
75x = 10*150
----
x = 20 mL (amount pure acid needed for the mixture)
