If I have 100 ounces of 200° water, how many ounces of 85° water is needed to bring the final temperature of the water to 165°?
-------------
100*200 = 20000 oz-degs
Add x ounces of 85º water
20000 + 85x = (100 + x)*165
20000 + 85x = 165x + 16500
80x = 3500
x = 43.75 ounces to be added
