How much pure water must be mixed with 8 pints of 60% developer to produce a mixture that is 24% developer?

8 pts of 60% --> 4.8 pts of developer
For 4.8 pts to be 24%, the total solution is 4.8/0.24 = 20 pts
Add 12 pts of water

So now, how many pints of 24% liquid would have that same 4.8 pints of developer in it?

So how much do you have to add? 20-8 = 12 pints of pure water
