Question 350378: what quantity of a 70% acid solution must be mixed with a 40% solution to produce 600mL of a 60% solution?
Answer by checkley77(12844) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.70X+.40(600-X)=600*.60
.70X+240-.40X=360
.30X=360-240
.30X=120
X=120/.30
X=400 ml. of 70% solution is used.
.70*400+.40(600-400)=600*.60
280+.40*200=360
280+80=360
360=360
