Here is your equation:
first mixture + second mixture = total mixture
0.80x + 0.15 = 0.40(x + 600)
Can you take it form here?

Answer by checkley77(12844)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.80X+.15(600-X)=.40*600
.80X+90-.15X=240
.65X=240-90
.65X=150
X=150/.65
X=230.77 ml. of 80% mixture is used.
Proof:
,80*230.77+.15(600-230.77)=.4*600
184.62+.15(369.23)=240
184.62+55.38=240
240=240
