How to get formula for this type of word problem. High velocity hose takes 12hours to fill pool. 7hrs with High velocity and low velocity. How long with low velocity hose only?
high velocity takes 12 hours so 1/12 th pool it will fill in 1 hour
both together will fill in 7 hours. so they will fill 1/7th pool in 1 hour
1/7 - 1/12 will be filled by the low velcoity in 1 hour
=5/84 th pool the low velocity hose will fill in 1 hour.
for filling completely it will take 84/5 hours = 16.8 hours
