Calculate the per pound cost of the 13 lb of mixed nuts
= 5.38 /lb
:
Let x = no. of fancy nuts
then
(13-x) = no. of peanuts

A mixture equation
7.50x + 2(13-x) = 5.38(13)
:
7.5x + 26 - 2x = 69.94
:
7.5x - 2x = 69.94 - 26
:
5.5x = 43.94
x =
x = 7.9899 ~ 8 lb of fancy nuts
then
13 - 8 = 5 lb of peanuts
