A tire dealer sells 2 tires for as much as he paid for 3 tires. He paid $240 for a dozen tires. What is the total profit on 12 tires?
---------------------------------
He paid 240/3 = 80 dollars for each tire.
He sold 2 tires for 240/2 = 120 dollars apiece
----
His profit on each tire was 40 dollars
---
Profit on 12 tires is 12*40 = $480
