If the caramels cost $0.25 to produce and the cremes cost $0.45 to produce, how many of each should be in a box to make a profit of $3?

we have two equations here:

we have a profit of $3. If we sell a box for $12.50 and our profit is $3.00
the cost to us is $9.50
---
multiply (i) by -25 to get
(iii)
add (ii) and (iii) to get
(iv)
So,
creme = 8 and caramel = 22
