Question 256253: Please help me solve this word problem: A 100 liter container is filled with a soultion that is 20% acid. How much of the solution should be poured out and replaced with pure acid in order for the container to have a solution that is 25% acid?

(100 - X)(20) + (X)(100) = (100)(25)

2000 - 20X + 100X = 2500 ___ 80X = 500 ___ X = 6.25
