Question 25090: ten liters of a 4% acid soluttion must be mixed with a 10% solution to get a 6% solution how many liters of the 10% solution are needed?
Answer by Paul(988)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
10L of 4% = 4(10)
10% =? --->10x
6%=? ---> 6(10-x)
4(10)+10x=6(10-x)
40+10x=60-6x
16x=20
x=1.25

Hence about 1.25L of solution is needed.
