How many ml of acid would you need to add to 50ml of 30% acid solution to make a 50% acid solution?
.
Let x = amount (ml) of acid added
then
x + .30(50) = .50(50+x)
x + 15 = 25 + .50x
.50x + 15 = 25
.50x = 10
x = 10/.50
x = 20 ml
