Question 229187: A grocer mixed nuts worth 85 cents per pound with nuts worth 55 cents per pound. How many pounds of each kind did he use to make a mixture of 60 pounds to sell at 75 cents per pound?
I believe the equations are 0.85x+0.55y=45 and x+y=60 and the answers are y=20 and x=40, but I am not sure. May you please help me?

That's right, you can check it:
.85(40) + .55(20) = .75(60)
