how much water must be evaporated from 28 ounces of a 3% salt solution to make a 7% salt solution?
------------------------
Equation:
salt - salt = salt
0.03*28 - 0x = 0.07(28-x)
---
Multiply thru by 100 to get:
3*38 = 7(28-x)
3*28 = 7*28 - 7x
7x = 4*28
x = 16 oz (Amt. of water that must be evaporated)
