Question 217750: an apartment building has 7 stories. The top floor is one large apartment. Each floor has twice as many apartments as the floor above it. How many apartments are in the building? Find the generalized formula that would determine the number of apartments in the building if it had "x" stories (floors). I think that x equals the number of floors and y should be the number of apartments. I am stumped there. Can you help me?
