: If the degree measure of the smallest angle of a triangle is one half of the degree measure of the second largest angle and one third of the degree measure of the largest angle, then what is the degree measure of each angle? This question is from textbook ELEMENTARY AND INTERMEDIATE ALGEBRA

X=smallest angle
we know that x is 1/2 <2 therefore 2x=<2
We know that x is 1/3<3 therefore 3x=<3
We also know that the sum of the angles in a triangle is =180
The equation is x+2x+3x=180
Simplify and combine like terms
6x=180
divide both sides by 6
x=30 To check our answer plug in the values for each angle
30+60+90=180
180=180
