How many pounds of dog food A, containing 16% protein, needs to be blended with dog food B, containing 75% protein, to obtain 500 LBS of food with 7% protein?
[first mixture] + [second mixture] = [total mixture]
Let x = pounds
[x(0.16)] + [x(0.75)] = (2x)(0.07)
All you have to do is solve for x. Then multiply your value of x by 0.16 for dog food A and 0.75 for dog food B.
Can you take it from here?
If not, write back.
