How many gallons of gasoline that is 12 % ethanol must be added to 2000 gallons of gasoline that has no ethanol to obtain a mixture that is 10 % ethanol?
-----------
Ethanol Equation: 0.12x + 0*2000 = 0.10(x+2000)
0.12x = 0.10x + 200
0.02x = 200
x = 10,000 gallons (amt. of 12% ethanol that must be added)
