A fast and easy non-algebraic way of solving mixture problems like this....
(1) 30% is 1/4 of the way from 20% to 60%. (20 to 60 is 40; 20 to 30 is 10; 10/40 = 1/4)
(2) Therefore, 1/4 of the mixture is the 60% solution.
He needs 80L of the mixture; so 20L of the 60% solution and the remaining 60L of the 20% solution.
CHECK:
.60(20)+.20(60) = 12+12 = 24
.30(80) = 24
