The sum of two numbers is 94
Let x be the smaller number and y the larger
x+y =94
y=2x-5
x+y =94
plug y in the equation
x+2x-5 = 94
3x = 94+5
3x=99
x=33
y=61
and the larger number is 5 less than twice the smaller number. Find the numbers.
