If x is the common value of masses of each ingredient, then you have this equation to determine x


    4x + 6x = 15   dollars.


It implies


    10x     = 15

      x     = 15/10 = 1.5 kilograms.


ANSWER.  1.5 kg of apples and 1.5 kilograms of oranges.
