ANSWER.  Exactly 2.



Solution


(1)  Make a sketch.


(2)  In the sketch, mark the point K on the line AB.


(3)  Take a compass,  make its wide equal to 4, and draw the circle with the center at K of the radius of 4.


(4)  Since 4 > 3, you will get two intersection points of the circle with the line CD.

      These points are those you are seeking for.
