Let "x" be the C's capital (the value under the question).


Then you have this equation (proportion) from the condition

or, equivalently

Cross-multiply and then simplify and solve for x:


    7x = 3*(5000+25000+x)


    7x = 90000 + 3x


    4x = 90000  ====>  x =  = 22500.     ANSWER


CHECK.  Substitute the found value of x into equation (1)

C's share of the profit was 1500/3500 = 3/7.

So together A's and B's shares were 4/7.

C's share of the profit was 3/4 of the total of A's and B's shares, so C's capital was 3/4 of the total of A's and B's capital.

The total of A's and B's capital was 5000+25000 = 30000; so C's capital was 3/4 of 30000, which is 22500.
