Question 1044949: Jaiden wants to make a 20% saline solution. She had already poured 9 fl. oz. of pure water into a beaker. How many fl. oz. of a 50% saline solution must she add to this to create the desired mixture?
Answer by Boreal(15235)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x=amount of 50% saline solution
0.50x=(9+x)(0.20); that is added to the 9 ml
0.50x=1.8+0.2x
0.3x=1.8
x=6 ml of 50%, ANSWER
6 ml of 0.5 saline is 3 ml pure saline
15 ml of 0.2 saline is 3 ml pure saline
