30X+2500-25X=2800
5X=300
X=60
60% of the 30 and 40% of the 25 will yield 28% combo.

x+y = 20 subtract x from both sides:
y = 20-x We will use this value for y next

0.30x+0.25y = 0.28(20) Substitute for y:
0.30x+0.25(20-x) = 0.28(20) Multiply on both sides
0.30x+5-0.25x = 5.6 Subtract x on left, subtract 5 on both sides
0.05x = 0.6 Divide both sides by 0.05
x = 12 they need 12oz of 30% peanuts and:
20-12 = 8oz of the 25% mix.
