How much water must be evaporated from a 20 liter 32% salt solution if the desired concentration is 50%?
:
let x = amt of water to be evaporated
:
The actual amt of salt will be the same
.32(20) = .50(20-x)
6.4 = 10 - .5x
.5x = 10 - 6.4
x = 3.6/.5
x = 7.2 liters of water to be evaporated
