Question 159043: For some reason I think I was once able to do this problem, but I forgot. Here's how it goes:
Two poles 20 feet and 80 feet high are 100 feet apart. What is the height of the point of intersection of the lines which run form the top of each pole to the foot of the other pole?

Question 159368: I am having a tough time with this one. I used the following forumula: h=1/2gs^2+V0^S+h0
h=-1/2(32)(3)^2 +100+0=-44
this doesn't make any sense, here is the problem:
a rocket is shot straight up from the ground with an initial velocity of 100 feet per second. How high will it be after 3 seconds?

Question 159369: I have tried this problem multiple times. Maybe I am overthiking it.
Find the domain and range of the function that describes the height of a ball dropped from a 500-foot building.
Domain = set of values between & including 0-? seconds.
Range = height of building so it would be 500 feet, right?
forumula: h=-1/2 gs^2+v0S+h0
Now I get stuck.

Question 160676: I have to figure out how to write an equation to solve a problem. "Tuition is $1250.00 for the first 12 credit hours, $100 for each over 12. There is a lump sum registration fee of 150.0 and a lump sum activity fee of $75.00. books will cost $50 per credit hr and supplies $8.00 per cr hr. I can figure it out but I cannot figure out how to write the equation. I was then asked to calculate if the student attended 14 cr hrs what would the cost be. This is how I solved it.
(12 X 1250) + (2 X 100) + 225 + (58 x 14)=16,237.00. Can you help me write an equation?
