Question 996857: If someone loaned me $60 dollars and I had to pay them back the $60 plus 30% more, how much do I owe them?
Answer by Theo(13342)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
60 * .3 = 18

you would owe them 60 + 18 = 78.

another way of looking at it is:

10% of 60 = 6, therefore 30% of 60 must be equal to 3 * 6 = 18.
