Question 984224: please help me solve this miscellaneous word problem:Find two consecutive integers whose product is 506.
Answer by Boreal(15235)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
integers are x and x+1
x(x+1)=506
x^2+x=506
x^2+x-506=0
factors of 506 that sum to 1
23 and -22
(x+23)(x-22)=0
The integers are 22 and 23 OR
-23,-22
Both of those work.
