Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the perimeter of a rectangle is 66 yds.
let length be l and width be w
2(l+w)=66
divide by 2
l+w=33
the length of a rectangle is five more than three times the width. what is the length of the rectangle?
l=5+3w
substitute l in the first equation
l+w=33
(5+3w)+w=33
5+4w=33
4w=33-5
4w=28
w=28/4
w=7
l=5+3w
l=5+3*7
l=26
