Question 979184: peter wants to fence the frontage of his lot by using posts 4 meter apart. however he found the posts too expensive, so he bought 5 fewer posts and space them 5 meter apart. how long is the frontage of his lot?
Answer by anand429(138)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let initial no. pf posts planned =x
So length of frontage = (x-1)*4 (since no. of gaps between posts will be 1 less than no. of posts)
In actual case, length of frontage = ((x-5)-1)*5
=(x-6)*5
So
(x-6)*5 = (x-1)*4
=> x= 26
