The middle school football team wants to average 24 points per game.
They have scored 12,48,6,26,38,12, and 42 through the first seven games.
Let the score in the 8th game be x.
We have (12+48+6+26+38+12+42+x)/8=24
(184+x)/8=24
184+x=192
x=8
They must score 8 points in the 8th game.
