Jessica has some nickles and quarters in her bank totaling $6.95. If she has seven more nickles than quarters,how many of each coin does she have?
I think the equation would look like this:
.05n+.25q(-7)=$6.95
but how would I isolate a variable?
I could really use your help on this one.

Let = the number of quarters

n = # of nickels, q = quarters

5n + 25q = 695
n = q + 7

Sub for n in the 1st eqn
5(q+7) + 25q = 695
30q + 35 = 695
30q = 660
q = 22
n = 29
