Question 945169: Please help me with this one too. :)
An electronics company used a pipe that was 100 ft long and had a radius of 10 ft. Inside the pipe was a smaller cylindrical tube, for wires, that had a radius of 2 ft and was as long as the pipe. The remaining space in the pipe, outside the tube, was filled with liquid foam.

What was the volume of the foam inside the pipe? Use 3.14 to approximate pi.

Answer by macston(5194)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let R=large radius, S= small radius, L=length
Volume (large)=
Volume (small)=
Volume (foam)= Volume (large) - Volume (small)
factor out pi(L)
Enter values

=(9600 cu ft)(3.14)=30144 cu ft
ANSWER Volume of foam is 30144 cubic feet.
